Dimapur, October 18 (MExN): A total of 2655 bottles/cans of assorted Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) and 1255 litre of country-made liquor were seized within Dimapur and Chumukedima districts from October 10-18, an official release informed.
The recoveries were made during extensive combine raids and checking carried out by the District Excise Dimapur, Mobile Squad and Narcotic Cell of the Excise Department within Dimapur and Chumukedima District.
The country liquors were destroyed on the spot while the assorted IMFLs were safely deposited to the concern malkhanas for future destruction, informed the release from S Changlei Angh, Deputy Commissioner of Excise (HQ), Dimapur.
In this connection, all the accused were booked and penalised under relevant sections of the NLTP Act, 1989, it added, without specifying the number of offenders arrested.
