DIMAPUR, APRIL 9 (MExN): After two days of intensive tracking, the Dimapur Excise Department successfully seized 800 grams of brown sugar (Heroin) from an accused individual, Lamminlen Kipgen (31), a resident of Pangjang Village, Saikul, Senapati, Manipur on April 8.
A press statement issued by Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition, Limatemsu Changkiri said the narcotic substance, which was sourced from Manipur, was intended for distribution in Dimapur. Following extensive surveillance and intelligence gathering, the Excise team apprehended the accused and seized the drugs from the Eros Lane area in Dimapur.
The accused has been booked under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Further investigations are underway to uncover more details.
