Dimapur: Inspection to check cruelty of animals prevailing in open market

Dimapur, May 4 (MExN): Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Dimapur along with Police Officer and Personnel of East PS, Officials of Veterinary Department, Dimapur Municipal Council and Officials of GB Union (Sadar) conducted inspection at Super Market on May 4 “against the cruelty of animals prevailing in the open market.” 

The inspection was conducted due to the illegal and rampant cruelty of dogs and other animals at the super market area. During the drive, no cruelty or selling dogs or animals were found. 

However, the officials briefed the vendors about the legal implications upon cruelty to animals.

Meanwhile, SPCA Dimapur has appealed to all the concern to refrain from such unlawful act and further reminded that the inspection shall be conducted on every working days/weeks and strict action will be initiated against the perpetrators as per the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 and laws framed there under.
