Dimapur, October 8 (MExN): Jitesh Sethi, son of Arun and Meena Sethi from Dimapur, was ranked 9562 out of 1.60 lakh aspirants in the IIT JEE (Indian Institute of Technology, Joint Entrance Examination) Advanced 2020.
A press statement from Ajay Sethi stated that Jitesh is perhaps the only IIT aspirant from Nagaland to achieve the feat this year. He is expected to be counselled online in the second week of October for admission in one of the 23 IIT institutes in the country.
10.23 lakh aspirants appeared JEE Main 2020, after which IIT JEE Advanced 2020 was held on September 27. Jitesh had earlier scored 99.17 percentile in JEE Main 2020 and was ranked 9401 in All India Ranks as per JEE Main 2020.
Jitesh is said to have expressed desire to take up computer science and pursue Bachelor of Technology from one of the most prestigious institutes of the country. Terming it a ‘dream come true’, he attributed his success to his mother who inspired and motivated him to give his best.
