Dimapur: Micro Enterprise Development Prog for six SHGs launched

Dimapur, February 8 (MExN): Assisi Centre for Integrated Development (ACID cum NDWM) with the support of National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (NABARD), RO Assam commenced two Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) on shoe/chappal making and detergent making for 60 Self Help Groups members belonging to six SHGs from Borolingri area and Rongphi Bosti.

A press release from ACID Dimapur stated that the programme was officially inaugurated by DDM NABARD, Assam Pauliankap Bulte in Assisi auditorium on February 8. 

Sr Pramila Lobo, UFS, Director ACID organisation in her welcome address expressed gratitude to NABARD, Assam for their constant support, guidance, and the help to reach out to many rural women to enhance their skills and make them economically stable. NABARD has supported in different programme to uplift women through skill development programmes, awareness programmes and also other training programmes related to SHG management. NABARD has been supporting the organisation through different skill training programmes which attempts to bridge the skill deficit or facilitates optimization of production activity already pursued by SHG members. 

Pauliankap Bulte, DDM, NABARD, Diphu district, K/A Assam in his inaugural address expressed that the skill the SHG members are going to learn is not of waste. “It is like training whole family because they being the home maker these skill trainings should help them to become economically stable and manage with the skill that they learn.” 

The MEDP programmes are mainly for two purposes: one is to develop self employment and another is wage employment. He also encouraged functioning the SHG groups with proper aims and objectives, not to depend on the credit linkage alone but rather to become self sufficient by acquiring all the skills tactfully. “Through proper savings, skill trainings and other income generating activity programmes they should enhance their economic stability,” he stated. 

LDM R Saha, Diphu gave them awareness on the Financial Literacy Programme, Social Security Schemes that are available like PMJJY,PMSBY, APY, Rupay scheme, Mudra Yojana and also created awareness on the fraud calls from external forces which deceit them easily by asking their bank derails or lottery.
