KOLKATA, APRIL 29 (AGENCIES): Two military hospitals in Guwahati and Dimapur were adjudged the best under the Eastern Command.The Guwahati-based 151 Base Hospital (BH) was adjudged the best zonal hospital among the five in the eastern region. The Dimapur-based 165 Military Hospital was also adjudged the best in mid-zonal group among the existing six in this region. This is the second year running that the hospital in Dimapur has bagged this honour. Lt General MMS Rai, general officer commanding-in-chief, Eastern Command, gave away the Army Commander’s trophies to the winners for 2012-13 on Monday at Fort William in Kolkata. Brig R S Sarkar, commandant, 151 BH and Col S K Jana, commanding officer, 165 MH received the trophies, certificates and cash awards. The best hospital trophy was first introduced in 2001 to inculcate healthy competition and progressive work culture among the service hospitals. The trophy is awarded based on patient care facilities, innovations, amenities, utilization of funds, unit administration and clientele satisfaction among other parameters.
