The Oxygen Plant to be set up at Dimapur District Hospital is still awaiting certification from the concerned authority and the same is expected this week.
A respondent party during a hearing of a Suo Moto PIL filed by the Gauhati High Court in Kohima on May 24 divulged the information to the court on Wednesday.
As regards the MoU that was to be signed between the Government of Nagaland and the Dimapur-based oxygen producing company BMA Liquid Air Ltd, the respondent counsel told the court that the same has been signed and supply of oxygen from the plant has already started.
“The oxygen plant has capacity of producing 3.1 metric tonne per cubic metre per day and the company has agreed to supply all the oxygen requirement of the State on priority. Rama Cylinders based in Gujarat with whom the State Government has signed an agreement for supply of oxygen cylinders has already sent 2 consignments and they would fulfill their contract of supplying the cylinders within 25 to 30 days,” it was informed.
As far as the other districts are concerned, the counsel assured that all efforts are made to make oxygen plants functional by the end of this month.
