Dimapur, August 14 (MExN): A District-Level Panch Sammelan on the newly enacted Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025 (VB-G RAM G) was held at Lotha Hoho Ki, Dimapur, on August 13, bringing together village functionaries and officials from various departments of Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland districts.
Project Director, DRDA Dimapur, Limameren Yaden, delivering his welcome address, underscored the importance of grassroots development in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat–2047, stated a DIPR report.
He said transforming India into a developed nation would require collective responsibility and active participation at the grassroots level. He noted that the Panch Sammelan provided a platform for line departments, implementing and development agencies, village functionaries and elected representatives to strengthen coordination and jointly formulate development plans.
Highlighting the VB-G RAM G Act, Yaden said the mission seeks to promote stable employment and sustainable livelihoods while improving rural economic conditions. He added that the immediate objective of the gathering was to create awareness and prepare stakeholders for effective implementation of the mission.
A technical presentation by Temsusoba Jamir, DBM, DRDA Dimapur, covered the key features of the VB-G RAM G scheme, which replaces MGNREGA. The scheme focuses on expanding guaranteed wage employment and creating durable community assets in areas including water security, core infrastructure, livelihood infrastructure and climate mitigation.
The scheme also incorporates technology-driven governance mechanisms such as biometric authentication, mandatory e-KYC, real-time MIS, AI-based monitoring and GPS tracking to improve transparency and efficiency. States have also been provided flexibility to pause work allocations for up to 60 days during peak harvesting seasons.
Seyiekhrielie Rio, BDO and PO, RD Block Chümoukedima, and Jacob Zeliang, BDO and PO, RD Block West Dimapur, briefed participants on the 16th Finance Commission, Solid Waste Management, asset management, Aadhaar/e-KYC, deletion and work demand.
They highlighted the importance of proper utilisation of 16th Finance Commission grants for strengthening rural infrastructure, sanitation, water management and other community assets. They also stressed effective solid waste management, proper maintenance of community assets and active participation of Village Councils and Gram Panchayats.
The officers further sensitised participants on Aadhaar and e-KYC verification and the timely registration of work demand to ensure that genuine beneficiaries receive employment opportunities and scheme benefits in a transparent and accountable manner.
The session concluded with remarks by Bohoto, BDO and PO, RD Block Kuhuboto, who expressed appreciation for the active participation of stakeholders and called for collective efforts towards effective implementation of the mission at the grassroots level.
