Dimapur, February 3 (MExN): In a joint operation with the Assam Police, the Dimapur Police on February 2 arrested two persons in connection with a murder and carjacking case in Sonitpur district of Assam.
According to a press release from the Dimapur Police ADCP/PRO, the arrested persons were identified as Biswajit Mech (25) and Saliatro Khempari (40). The arrest and recovery was a result of a consecutive police operation in Naharbari, Diphupar and Doyapur area, the PRO stated, while adding that the hijacked vehicle was also recovered. The arrested persons along with the recovered vehicle were handed over to Assam Police.
In another incident, three female minors who were reportedly missing from Kiphire district were rescued from the border area near New Field Check Gate by the Women Police Station staff with the assistance of Karbi-Anglong Police. In this connection the necessary steps have been taken to reunite the minors with their respective family members, the PRO informed.
