DIMAPUR, JULY 26 (MExN): Dimapur police on July 26, Tuesday arrested 6 more extortionists in two separate incidents in the town. In the first incident, 5 persons were arrested by a Special Operations Team (SOT) on routine surveillance duty while the extortionists were extorting money from the shops located at Church Road. Taxation Information Slips and Tax receipt booklets of NNC along with extorted cash totaling about Rs. 16,400/- were seized from their possession. One Maruti 800 bearing registration NL-01-2837 with Engine no.31686211 and Chassis no. 2160660 in which the extortionists were traveling was also seized. This was informed in a press note issued by Additional SP/PRO Dimapur.
The arrested accused who are cadres of NNC( Non- Accordist) as claimed by them have been identified as (i) SS Leacy Hutovi Yeptho (40 yrs) S/o Late Khashito Yeptho of Henito village, Niuland (ii) SS Khapur Nitovi Kiba (40 yrs) S/o Late Khavuxu of Ghoshito village, Niuland (iii) SS Razu Peyu Kavito Achumi (28 yrs) S/o Shikaho Achumi of Henito village, Niuland (iv) SS Razu Peyu Isato Kappo (31 yrs) S/o Aheto Kappo of Henito village, Niuland and (v) SS Kapur Phuheto Kappo (27yrs) S/o Late Nihoto Kappo of Henito village, Niuland. In connection a case of extortion has been registered against the arrested accused.
In another incident of extortion, personnel of the West Police Station, Dimapur arrested a cadre of NNC (Non- Accordist) from Sub-Jail junction identified as SS Pvt. Hovito Shohe S/o Visaho Shohe of Xuive village, Satakha and a resident of Industrial village, Dimapur while the accused was extorting money from the shop located in the area in the name of NNC (Non- Accordist). Money receipt book and Tax information Slips of NNC were recovered and seized from his possession. A case of extortion has been registered against the accused, informed the press note from the Additional SP/PRO.
