Dimapur, March 14 (MExN): Dimapur police on March 12 arrested one person for extorting money from the business community at Kher Mahal Dimapur.
According to a statement from the Dimapur police ADCP/PRO, the police recovered 23 tax slips of the ‘UNPG NNC (Parent body) Ministry of Chaplee Affairs,’ two duplicate money receipts, one mobile handset and Rs 500 in cash from the person who was identified as Hoto Ayemi of Padam Pukhuri, Dimapur. A case has been registered at East Police Station Dimapur, it added.
In another incident, the Dimapur police intercepted a truck in the Patkai bridge area, Chümoukedima and arrested one person for possession of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL). The arrested person was identified as Poklen Singh.
On conducting frisking/checking, 146 cases of rum (Zeno), 19 cases of canned beer (Tuborg), 23 cases of Kingfisher beer and 21 cases of McDowell whiskey were recovered/seized from the truck. In this connection, a case has been registered at Chümoukedima PS, Dimapur, the release stated.
