Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): The Dimapur police made several arrest during the last few days for charges of extortion and robbery.
Two individuals namely Angukavi Yeptho of Hekishe village, P/Add- Purana Bazar, Dimapur and Toshi Jamir (32 yrs) of Asangma village, P/Add- Ura Villa Dimapur were arrested from Burma Camp area on April 25. The Dimapur Police recovered non-local ID card in the name of NSCN/GPRN (K)- 23 Nos; NNC (NA) Tax slip - 6 Nos; FGN tax slip – 12 Nos; NNC Parent Body tax slip – 2 Nos; NNC/NPGN tax slip - 5 Nos and cash Rs 750. In this connection a case has been registered at East PS Dimapur, informed a update from ADCP (CRIME)/ PRO, Dimapur.
The Dimapur Police on April 27 arrested one person namely Wangzan Konyak (31 yrs) of Shangnyu village, P/Add- Burma Camp, Dimapur, from 3rd Mile area while extorting money from truck drivers in the name of NSCN (IM) and seized Rs 2500/- from his possession. In this connection a case has been registered at East PS Dimapur.
On April 25, Dimapur police arrested one person namely Salim Uddin (27 yrs) of Ratanpur village, Dist - Karimganj Assam. “The individual was wanted by Karimganj Police, Assam in connection with a theft case. In this regard nine jewellery items was seized from his possession,” the PRO informed. Subsequently, the individual along with the stolen items was handed over to the Karimganj Police.
Meanwhile, in connection with a vehicle theft case registered in Chandmari PS, Assam, one Bolero Pick-up was recovered by East PS personnel from Dimapur town on April 27. The vehicle was handed over to Assam Police.
