KOHIMA, MAY 17 (MExN): Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) emerged champions of the open penalty shootout tournament organised by the Kohima Baptist Khriesarüü Krotho at IG Stadium, Kohima on May 17.
In a closely contested final match, DIPR edged out Rabbi SZBKK with a 4-3 victory to claim the title. The champions were awarded a cash prize of Rs 30,000, while runners-up Rabbi SZBKK received Rs 20,000.
Tobu Brothers NU secured third place and took home Rs 10,000, while Cola Brothers claimed fourth place along with a cash prize of Rs 5,000. Adding to DIPR’s accolades, Tsukjemwati Lkr was named Best Goalkeeper of the tournament and was awarded Rs 3,000 for his outstanding performance under the bar.
The tournament, played in a knockout format, saw enthusiastic participation from 31 teams, making it a vibrant showcase of local talent and sportsmanship. Organisers expressed appreciation for the spirited competition and the support from football enthusiasts throughout the event.
