Mon, December 16 (MExN): A Model Anganwadi Centre (AWC) at Wakching village and distribution of relief for those affected by the November 8 fire was held on December 11.
According to a DIPR report received on Wednesday, earlier on November 8, a fire broke out in Wakching village AW, Centre-A area, where four houses were completely burned down and 16 houses were destroyed. In the process of containing the spread of fire in the adjoining areas, 17 AW beneficiaries (women and children) were affected, it said.
The report stated that the dedication of Model AWC and distribution of relief to the fire victims was held on the initiative of Renchano Odyuo, CDPO (ICDS).
Odyuo, on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked the officers and well-wishers from SPMU, Poshan Abhigyan, Nagaland and Social Welfare Department for donating money and rice to the victims for immediate relief, it stated.
The welcome address was delivered by Ngonteih Konyak, Supervisor and the dedication of Model AWC upgradation was carried out by Menton, Pastor, WBC.
