
Kohima, December 17 (MExN): A webinar on the orientation and training for District Commissioners and Nodal Officers of Multi- Sectoral districts of BBBP, Nagaland was conducted on December 17, by the State Level BBBP, Mahila Shakti Kendra.
BBBP or Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao is a campaign of the Government of India that aims to generate awareness and improve the efficiency of welfare services intended for girls in India. The name Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao translates to 'Save the girl child, educate the girl child'.
According to a press release from the State Resource Centre For Women on Friday, BBBP State Team Leader Juliana Medom, who moderated the webinar, gave an overview of the various activities conducted under BBBP in the state including best practices and best performing districts .
Commissioner and Secretary, Department of Social Welfare and Administrator of Nagaland State Social Welfare Board (NSSWB), Sarah R Ritse, urged the multi- sectoral districts to make the BBBP scheme more effective.
Ritse also encouraged the district administration to be prompt in submitting relevant documents to the ministry so that BBBP activities are conducted smoothly, the release stated.
Meanwhile, Chairperson of Nagaland State Commission for Women Khrienuo Tachü applauded the District Administration for carrying forward the BBBP scheme in their districts and underlined that more interventions in remote villages would create greater impact.
Neingusalie Theünuo, Assistant Director called for more awareness and training of Anganwadi Workers who are the grass root workers of BBBP scheme.
The webinar ended with a Question and Answer session, where all the stakeholders shared their opinions and concerns, the press release stated.
