District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee meeting in Kohima

Dimapur, November 28 (MExN):  To simplify Aadhaar enrolment and its usage, UIDAI, Regional Office, Guwahati conducted the first District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee meeting in Kohima on Monday.

According to a press release received here, the Kohima Deputy Commissioner chaired the meeting which was attended by senior officials from district administration and representatives from UIDAI, RO Guwahati.

During the meeting, various salient points including Aadhaar saturation in all age groups and mandatory biometric update of children (biometric details of child in Aadhaar to be updated once attain the age of 5 and 15 years) were discussed. 

It also discussed a document update campaign as the UIDAI has recently issued a new guideline under which residents whose Aadhaar numbers were issued more than 10 years ago and have not been updated, would be required to update identification and address proof documents.

Strengthening of Aadhaar Enrolment Ecosystem; establishment of District/Sub-District/Block level Aadhaar Seva Kendra’s by UIDAI; State Registrar and CSC e-Gov, monitoring and Audit of Aadhaar Enrolment Centres; usage of Aadhaar in various schemes and related issue; implementation of Aadhaar Linked Birth Registration (ALBR); monitoring of fraudulent activities related to Aadhaar; requirement for additional enrolment & update Centres and ensuring availability of enrolment centres in uncovered areas (Enrolments camp at District Jails, Orphanages, inaccessible areas etc); and Digital Life Certificate to Pensioners through face authentication were some other salient points.

All the officials had a detailed interaction with UIDAI officers and had their doubts clarified for enhancing the use of Aadhaar numbers, the release stated while adding that District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee meeting for the remaining districts would be conducted soon.
