Kohima, December 17 (MExN): A district level workshop on Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan (SUMAN) was held on December 16 at DC Conference Hall, Kohima.
Emphasizing on SUMAN scheme and checklist, Chief Medical Officer, Kohima Dr Vezokholu Theyo said that SUMAN is an initiative for zero preventable maternal and newborn deaths with a vision to create a responsive health care system which strives to achieve zero maternal and infant deaths through quality care provided with dignity and respect.
She informed that the beneficiaries under these scheme includes all pregnant women, all mothers up to 6 months post-delivery and all sick infants. She also sought cooperation and support of District Administration and other line departments to work together for the dignified and quality service to end all preventable maternal and newborn deaths.
Medical Superintendent, NHAK Dr Visasieü Kire also highlighted the District Hospital Maternal and Newborn Health indicators based on HMIS data for the last 3 years, Status - admission, death rate, facility and community follow- up, Maternal and child death review status, still birth rate etc.
Sr OBG NHAK Dr Abei Angami delivered a presentation on the update of LaQshya program certification status, bottlenecks pertaining to specific check points, and LaQshya monthly indicators. The workshop was organised by NHAK in collaboration with Kohima District Administration.
