Mokokchung, December 14 (MExN): District level workshop on Surakshit Matritva Aaswasan (SUMAN) was held at the Conference Hall of Chief Medical Officer office, Mokokchung on December 14.

In a press release from the CMO Office stated that Dr Ayangla Saku, DPO (UIP & RCH) who chaired the programme, presented powerpoint on SUMAN and Facility Assessment Checklist. She briefed about initiative for zero preventable maternal and new born death and providing positive birthing experience, beneficiaries of the scheme, conceptual framework and grievances redressal mechanism.

Dr Supongmeren, OBS/GYNAE, IMDH presented data for achievement of the last three years i.e. 2017-2020 and reviews on District Hospital Maternal and New born health indicators.

Dr Ajemrenla Ajem, DPM (QA) updated about the different levels of assessment under Laqshya facilities. Dharam Raj, SDO (Civil), Mokokchung, remarked on the involvement of civil societies, which is main effort needed for the success of the programme.

The workshop was attended by representatives from Administration, Police Department, NGOs, CMO, Dy CMO, MS (IMDH) and staffs from Chief Medical Officer Office and IMDH.
