DMI St. Joseph Global School observes Fit India School Week

Dimapur, November 30 (MExN): With an objective to drive home the importance of physical fitness for a sound mental make-up, DMI St Joseph Global School virtually observed a virtual Fit India School Week from November 24 to 30, as directed by the CBSE. 

According to a press release from the school, the entire week was spiced up with lot of easy-to-do fitness activities, starting with ‘Fun & fitness- dance, aerobics exercise, martial arts, Zumba and rope-skipping’ on November 24 for both students and parents. 

The second day engaged students in ‘Poster-making competition on the theme ‘Fit mind-Fit Environment,’ while the third day focused on the theme ‘Yoga for All.’

On the fourth day students participated in essay/poem writing competition on the theme ‘Fit India School’ while the fifth day was dedicated to ‘Family fitness: activities involving students and parents at home.’ The final day was dedicated to online ‘Fitness Sports Quiz’, for which students were divided into three categories namely I-III (Category-I), IV-VI (Category-II)and VII-X (Category-III), the release stated.

In Category-I Olino Pearl and Kinali Swu, in Category-II, Keno Joshuva and Livino S Yesca and in Category-III, Vikebe Zhimo and Atobo K Aye were adjudged winners. 

The release stated that students were asked to send photos and videos of their participation to the respective class teachers, and received enthusiastic involvement from parents as well.

The programme was coordinated by Physical Education Teacher of the school Hayithung Yanthan who was assisted by team of teachers.
