DIMAPUR, JULY 10 (MExN): The Dimapur Changdang Kaketshir Telongjem held its Cultural and Literary Day on July 8 at DBIDL conference hall, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Dimapur on the theme ‘How to Preserve Our Culture in the Modern Era.’
The main motive of this event was to showcase cultural tradition, through folk song and dance which have been an integral part of society practised throughout generations, and understanding history to reconnect and build society. The event was graced by Rev Imly Jamir.
In the first session, the speaker, Temjenwati Jamir emphasized on the importance and ways to preserve culture and tradition. In the second session, the speakers M Sashi and Tongpangla spoke about the symbolic significance of traditional wear and its variants within the village.
A debate competition, Ao word meaning, Ao folktale narration, painting and photography competition were some of the highlights of the program. Lanuniken Imchen, Treasurer, Dimapur Changdang Kaketshir Telongjem, closed the event by pronouncing the benediction.
