Dimapur, Aug 25 (mexn): The office of the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has questioned the Sate Government on the issue of creating the four-lane road to the State Stadium, Dimapur at the cost of Dimapur Government College land.
“After decades of struggle to safeguard the property of the College from various selfish individuals who were always trying to encroach upon the land with every possible weapons and means, we have succeeded in securing the land as it is now. But the very fact now with the Government’s proposal to create a four-lane road at the expense of the college is very unbecoming,” stated a pres communiqué issued by DNSU President Obed Yimchunger.
The DNSU has further sated that it does not object to the proposal of the Government in bringing a new feature to the only stadium in Dimapur but it has rejected the idea of slicing off land from the college for the said purpose. “With limited land, the future of the college is placed at stake.
Instead of providing infrastructures to the College the apathy shown by the Government to the only Government College in Dimapur is clearly seen which is not acceptable by the students,” the release stated.
The DNSU has therefore asked the Government to reconsider its decision on the above cited issue.
