DNSU cautions against price rise and hoarding

DIMAPUR, MAY 17 (MExN): The Dimapur Naga Students' Union (DNSU) has cautioned traders and shop owners under DMC jurisdiction not to indulge in any unfair, illegal or unethical practices such as hoarding or unauthorized increase in prices of commodities taking advantage of the COVID- 19 situation in the State. The union also cautioned that any shopkeepers/vendors indulging in such practices will be strictly dealt with.

In case of any grievances, and shops not complying with the Dimapur Municipal Council price chart, the public can send their complaints through WhatsApp to: 7005655243, 8794399471, 9852531781 and 7005836 154.

A press release from the DNSU also urged all the traders, business houses and shop keepers to strictly comply with COVID-19 related SOPs by wearing face mask, keeping/using hand sanitizers and maintaining adequate physical social distance inside the shop.

Meanwhile, the DNSU expressed concern over the May 16 assault of a shopkeeper in Dimapur by “self styled goons.”
It asked the law enforcement authorities to book the culprits at the earliest and award befitting punishment.
