Dimapur, March 4 (MExN): The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has raised concerns over what it termed as “massive fund drives and donations” being conducted by various students’ organisations or unions. These activities, it said, has been hampering the smooth functioning of the business community in Dimapur.
In a press release on Saturday, the DNSU acknowledged that that the student organisations and unions need support to carry forward their projects for the uplift of the students' community. However, it also noted that “excessive fund drives and donations for such causes are bothersome to the business community, hindering their business growth as well.”
In this connection, it suggested that the student bodies “work and earn,” and find ways and means to have sustainable earning outlets for the office to function and progress, instead of solely depending on fund drives and donations with no work efforts.
“Therefore, this is a genuine appeal to all student organisations including DNSU members to restrain such exercises of power to gain easy financial support and disturb the business community in Dimapur,” the release stated.
