Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival 2021 inauguration in the Salesian (Don Bosco) Province of Dimapur on November 18.

Dimapur, November 18 (MExN): Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival 2021 (DBGYFF 2021) was inaugurated in various venues including the Salesian (Don Bosco) Province of Dimapur on November 18.

The festival was released in the following venues by the respective guests: Salesian College of Higher Education-Tiakumzuk Aier of ‘Dreamz Unlimited’; Christ King Church, Kohima- KD Vizo, Principal Secretary of Information Technology & Power Department, Nagaland; Don Bosco HSS, Dibrugarh- Mridul Sharma, Programme Director of Door Darshan, Dibrugarh; Don Bosco School, Dergaon (Assam)- Noorul Sultan, noted film producer and writer; and St Joseph School, Shajouba-Manipur-Adani Salew.

The festival was also inaugurated in Little Flower School Kohima;  DBS Amguri, DBS Dergaon, St Xavier’s School Harmutty , DBS Jorhat and DBS Tinsukia  in Assam; DBS  Doimukh, DBS Kheti, Catholic Church Miao, DBS Palinin Arunachal Pradesh.

A press release issued by Jonas Kerketta, Bosco College of Teacher Education, Dimapur stated that DBGYFF is organized by the Media Department of the Salesian Congregation (Don Bosco Society) in 134 countries to disseminate a sense of ‘Hope’ to counter the sense of despair created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Youth between the ages of 15 and 30 were invited to produce short films on the said theme and submit them to the organizers in Rome. In all 1686 short films were submitted to the organizers, of which 110 were shortlisted for global screening on November 18 and 19. One film in Angami Naga dialect entitled Thenupfü Rüli produced by the youth of Christ King Church Kohima, is also qualified for international screening.
