Don Bosco Kohima golden jubilee grand finale on November 20

The grand finale of the year long golden jubilee celebration of Don Bosco Kohima will take place on November 20 at Don Bosco, Kohima under the theme “Towards a better world with Don Bosco.”

Addressing a press conference here this afternoon, Golden Jubilee organizing committee chairman K.D. Vizo said that Don Bosco Kohima was instituted in 1971 and it is one of the institutions to transform the society.

Presently, there are 1700 students in Don Bosco school and another 600 students in Don Bosco College Kohima.

Vizo said that Don Bosco Kohima is going to promote research activities in which a new building is coming up.

It may be recalled that the launching ceremony of the yearlong golden jubilee celebration of Don Bosco Kohima took place on January 31 this year.

Nagaland’s chief secretary J. Alam will grace the grand finale as the special guest on November 20 at 11:00 AM.
Alam will unveil the golden jubilee monolith at 10:30 AM.

Abu Metha, Advisor to Chief Minister Nagaland will be the guest honour at Bosconian Nite at 3:00 PM on the same day.

Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Diocese Kohima, Fr. Dr. Jose Kuruvachira, SDB, Provincial of Salesian Province of Dimapur, Fr. C.P. Mathew, SDB and Helievi-o Solo, chairman Kohima Village council will also deliver short speech at the grand finale session.

Dr. Kezha (1980 batch) will share reminiscence.

KD Vizo will share jubilee greetings. Welcome address will be delivered by Fr. Suresh Innocent SDB while vote of thanks will be proposed by Fr. T.P. James, SDB, principal Don Bosco Kohima.

Jubilee feast will take place at 1:00 PM.

Meanwhile, Fr. T.P. James, SDB, principal Don Bosco Kohima extended invitation to all the Bosconians to be part of the celebration and be blessed.
