The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has retained the scheme construction of Rani Gaidinlu Library- cum- Memorial Museum in Kohima at a total cost of Rs. 11 crores. The library-cum -memorial museum will be based on the life and achievements of Rani Gaidinlu, a well known freedom fighter from the North East and will be christened as Rani Gaidinlu Library-cum-Memorial Museum, stated a press release issued by PA to DoNER minister.
“Shri. Bijoy Krishna Handique, Union Minister of Mines & DoNER, said that the Library Cum Memorial Museum will be a befitting tribute to a lady whose role in the Freedom Movement in Nagaland and Manipur is legendary and continues to inspire social activists in the North Eastern Region,” the release said.
The cost of construction of the library-cum- memorial museum will be met from the Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) Fund of the Ministry of DoNER.
