DoSE Nagaland releases video and booklet on ‘Improving immunity in children during COVID-19’

The Directorate of School Education (DoSE) Nagaland has released a video & a booklet on “Improving Immunity in Children during COVID-19.”

The booklet advised the children to follow certain diets and do exercise for boosting immunity.

The booklet stated that with India going through devastating second wave of COVID 19 putting “our health care system at the brink of collapse.”

“Most of the virologist and epidemiologist are predicting an impending third wave knocking at the door which will mostly affect children as we have seen the trends in previous two waves. First wave saw COVID affecting mostly old age people. The second way was a disaster for the young and middle aged people. So it is being predicted that the effect of third wave will be on our children. So boosting immunity of children before the third way should be our goal,” the booklet stated.

Among the many suggested diets (immune boosting food for school children) includes; Citrus fruit, green vegetable, seed and nuts, oatmeal, egg, fish meat and milk, golden milk, use of spices in diet, sprouts, ginger tea, Indian gooseberry (Amla) and Kholar (Kidney beans).
