DoSE reiterates on ‘fee structure’ for govt schools within Nagaland

Kohima, February 2 (MExN): The Department of School Education (DoSE), Government of Nagaland has reiterated that no admission fee and exam fee shall be collected from students up to Class VIII, except that to be paid to the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) as per RTE Act, 2009.

An update issued through the state IPR, stated that attention of Heads of all Government Schools (GHSS, GHS, GMS and GPS) has been drawn to School Education office notification of even number dated 17th June 2022 in regards to the ‘Fee Structure’ to be followed in government schools functioning within the State of Nagaland.

“This is for strict compliance by all concerned,” it stated.

As per the notification, no admission and exam fee will be collected upto Class 8 except that to be paid to NBSE as per Right to Education Act 2009; Class 11 and 12 students from Arts & commerce streams opting for computer and Informatics practices subject shall pay Laboratory fee of Rs 300 in addition to the above fees. Arts students opting for Geography subject shall pay Rs 100 only in addition to the stated fee. (See table) 

School providing uniforms, T-shirts, neck tie, belt etc will get the rates approved by the respective School Management and Development Committees (SMDCs). 

“NBSE fee shall be modified in accordance with the notifications being issued by the Board from time to time,” it added.
