Double standard policy of the present day Government of Nagaland

A news report appearing in the print media dated 25th Oct. 2021 which says, quote — "Government of Nagaland agreeing to rehabilitate those from outside Nagaland within the state and expecting increased Parliamentary and Assembly seats besides a hefty financial package" unquote has shaken the conscience of the intellectual Nagas of Nagaland severely.

When it has become loud and clear that the territorial integration of all contiguous Naga- inhabited area is not possible at this juncture, what has prompted the government of Nagaland agreeing to such a proposal? Is not it (the proposal) allow direct encroachment on the basic rights and future of the Nagas of Nagaland or in other words, sell out of Nagaland? The present day government is trying to act arbitrarily to serve its vested interests to cling to power but it has to listen to the voice of its stakeholders who are an indigenous people of Nagaland as it (the government) cannot take them for a ride. Trying to donate Nagaland's land for outsiders cannot be termed as a good or active facilitator.

However, in the name of peace and peaceful co-existence or on solution pretexts, if the present day government impose a 'force peace' on its land and people then, the consequences may have a dangerous political repercussion in Nagaland which would be regretted for all time to come by the Nagas. Let us also not forget what the saying goes — 'Real peace' brings flourishing prosperity while 'Force peace' brings unimaginable destruction to mankind.
May good sense prevails.
