Beneficiaries of Zhaphumi Village with inputs.
Lumami, October 25 (MExN): The Nagaland University, Krishi Vigyan Kendra under the mission to double farmer’s income had adopted Zhaphumi village of Akuluto block in Zunheboto District.
In line with the mission the KVK implemented several technological interventions to improve the income of the farming community, informed a press release from Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia, Sr. Scientist and Head KVK, Zunheboto.
The farmers had expressed their interest towards poultry production and to achieve their interest KVK took the initiative and today Dr. Chaurasia with the staffs of KVK provided the inputs in the form of chicks, poultry equipment and feeds on October 25, it said.
Each household of Zhaphumi village has been provided with chicks and it is expected that the farmers will be able generate income by selling of the matured birds, it informed. Besides, the initiative hopes to fulfil the household’s requirement of meat and enable farmers to become 'atmanirbhar (self reliant)' and the KVK’s mission to double the farmers income would be achieved, it added.
