Kohima, November 17 (MExN): Former Chief Minister of Nagaland Dr Shürhozelie Leizietsu on Tuesday laid the foundation for Lhisemia Community Building at Kohima Village.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Leizietsu said that the purpose of a community building is to bring the community together and foster better understanding, which in turn, would enable the community to do great things for the society, a press release informed.

Stating that one of the most important things facing the Naga Society right now is honesty, he exhorted the gathering that the foundation of a society should be on honesty and understanding, and that honesty and truth should be our forte and our custom. He expressed optimism that with the completion of the community building, the society will get better opportunities to deliberate on religious, socio-political and historical issues. 

Er Khriesalie D Vizo, Convenor of building committee thanked Lhouvizolie Tseikhanuo for donating his land to the community and also briefed the gathering on the technical aspects of the building. He said that a budget of Rs 5 crore has been earmarked for the 5-storeyed building which will be completed in 2 years time. He further solicited full cooperation of all members of the khel.

The programme was chaired by Ayie Yhome, Vice Chairman, Lhisemia Council; Rev Keviyiekelie Linyü, Pastor, Ebenezer Baptist Church, Kohima invoked God’s blessings on the ceremony while Kekhriesetuo Kelio, Chairman, Lhisemia Council gave the welcome address.

According to the release, Lhisemia Women’s’ Organization felicitated Dr Liezietsu and Lhouvizolie Tseikhanuo, the land donor during the programme which saw the attendance of Seneilie Suokhrie, Head G.B. and his colleagues, Lhisemia Women’s Organization, Lhisemia Gazetted Officers Association, Lhisemia Students Union and the Chairman of the clans under Lhisemia Khel, Kohima Village.
