Zunheboto, Mokokchung, Tuensang, and Phek Claim Victories; Peren Stages Comeback to Draw with Kohima

Zunheboto, Mokokchung, Tuensang, and Phek secured wins, while Peren made a remarkable comeback to draw with Kohima in the 23rdInter-District Football Championship, Dr. T Ao Trophy, at Loyem Memorial Astro Turf Ground in Tuensang town. In the first match, Peren fought back from a 4-1 deficit to level the score 4-4 against Kohima. Kohima’s goals came from NipusizoNagi, NeisedePeseyie, NoulevituoPienyü, and NouneModeze. Peren’s comeback was led by Kenumdi, who scored twice, with Lamsanggin and Winamthiu adding one each.
Zunheboto triumphed 4-2 over Shamator, with Vinato netting the tournament’s third hat trick. Qhuqhe also scored for Zunheboto, while Tsurito M and NungShimar scored for Shamator.
In the third match, Mokokchung dominated Kiphire 5-1, with Sentilong scoring the event’s fourth hat trick. Limakumzuk and Suponglemba also added goals for Mokokchung, while Nusu scored Kiphire’s lone goal.
Host team Tuensang defeated Longleng 2-0, with goals from captain Donge Hanglen and BapenYimjong.
In the final match of the day, Phek beat Dimapur 2-0, courtesy of goals from YhotoLohe and KenuzoVenuh.
