Dr T Ao Trophy 2020: Nagaland to face Arunachal Pradesh in opening match

The fixture for the North East Dr T Ao Trophy to be held from January 20 to 28 at IG Stadium, Kohima.

Nagaland will start their campaign at the upcoming North East Dr T Ao Trophy with the inaugural match against Arunachal Pradesh on January 20 at IG Stadium, Kohima.  

The inaugural programme of the tournament, held in Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima from January 18 to 28, will be graced by the Governor of Nagaland, RN Ravi.

Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura and host Nagaland are in Group A while Assam, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Sikkim are in Group B. 

The other team in Group –A, Manipur and Tripura, will play in the afternoon of January 20. 

The Group B match will also kick off the next day with Assam facing Sikkim and Mizoram meeting Meghalaya.  

The winning team will walk away with prize money of Rs. 10, 00,000, Trophy and Certificate. Other prizes include runner-up - Rs. 6,00,000, 3rd place - Rs. 2,00,000, 4th place - Rs. 1,00,000, fair play winner - Rs. 50,000, player of the tournament - Rs. 25,000, and Rs 10,000 each for the best goalkeeper, best defender, best midfielder, best forward, and the man of the final. 

Meanwhile, the champion team coach and manager will receive Rs 15,000 each, while the runner up team manager and coach will get Rs 10,000 each. 

All four losing teams in the league stages will also be awarded Rs 50,000.
