Dimapur, April 17 (MExN): The Dimapur Sumi Students' Union while lauding state Government for taking swift precautionary measures to fight the second wave of COVID-19 by issuing new revised SOPs, has urged for letting the classes go online till the spread of new cases could be contained.
Reminding the Government about the recent detection of new cases in some of the schools in Mokokchung district, the union expressed concerns that similar event could occur elsewhere.
In this connection, it reminded the State Government that the District administration was compelled to close down the schools and colleges exempting the ongoing HSLC and HSSLC exams and urged for the online classes.
Meanwhile, in support of the State Government's new order, DSSU President L Kivipu Shohe and General Secretary N Mugha Aye request the general public to follow the Standard Operating Procedures issued in order to avoid the spread of virus and in constraining the increasing number of cases in the state.
It also urged the state Health and Family Welfare department to speed up the survey and submit the report at the earliest through which the Government may take proper precautionary measures and make decision for the Schools and colleges.
