DTFs directed to regulate crowd and enforce SOP during festivals

Kohima March 27 (MExN): In view of various upcoming festivals, the Nagaland government has directed all District Task Forces (DTFs) to take necessary steps to enforce COVID-19 appropriate behavior at all times in public places, avoiding crowding, and limiting gatherings and congregations with strict observance of all SOPs and guidelines during the celebrations.

Drawing attention to the rise in the number of COVID-I9 cases and deaths in several States in the recent past, Home Secretary, Government of India in a letter on March 26 urged Chief Secretaries of all the States to take necessary measures to regulate crowds during upcoming festivals such as Good Friday, Easter and other festivals by ensuring strict observance of COVID-I9 appropriate behavior and all other relevant guidelines and SOPs. The letter sought strict enforcement of COVID-19 appropriate behavior and the prescribed SOPs for various activities.

In this regard, the State Home department on March 27 notified DTFs in Nagaland to create awareness, take proper measures for ensuring strict adherence to COVID-19 appropriate behavior, and all SOPs and guidelines aimed for preventing the spread of COVID-I9.

“…Wherever anyone is found violating, take appropriate action as per law against such person,” it added.
