Longleng, November 18 (MExN): The District Task force Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Mahila Shakti Kendra Longleng organized a duet singing competition on the theme ‘Equality for Women is Progress for all’ on November.
The competition was organised with the aim to encourage, motivate and support woman and girl child, a DIPR report stated.
During the event, EAC headquarter Pichano Kikon stated that competitions are not just about winning but includes various aspects like discovering one’s natural hidden talents. It gives people a platform to exhibit their artistic abilities and express their creative side, she added.
Kikon further encouraged the gathering to continue to motivate and inspire people with their talent through such platforms.
As per the release, altogether 10 participants for different churches, schools and wards participated in the competition. Kenmei Mukholee and Litong Mukho from Hills School of Music & Culture were awarded first prize, Henmei N Phom and Emongyunglak from Longleng Town Baptist Church bagged the second position and while Sentila S Pongen and Pangertula B Lemtur from Ao Baptist Church came third.
The panel of judges included Tanhau, Youth Pastor, Longleng Town Baptist Church, Rubie, EAC Longleng and Bachem Buchem, Associate Pastor, Christina Education.
Longleng DC M Shayung Phom gave away the prizes to the winners and consolation prizes were also given to all the participants.
