Wokha, October 26 (MExN): Keeping in view of the upcoming Mini Hornbill Festivals and celebrations scheduled in and around Wokha District, E-META (Explore-Morashen Eco Tourism Association) organized orientation programme on ‘Hospitability and Tourist Management’ to the village communities of Old Riphyim Tourist village, New Riphyim Green Village and Thillong Village (DHEP) which is also the proposed site for the upcoming Amur Falcon Fiesta 2018.
E-META conducted two-day orientation programme on October 18 and 19 at Morashen Hall, Old Riphyim and community Hall, Thillong Village respectively.
The main resource person, Chipen Khuvung, Team Metamorphosis trainee disseminated on the significance of soft skills and personal etiquette and emphasized on the qualities a leader shall possessed. Other resource persons, M James Tungoe, Nzanbemo Patton, Yanrenthung Patton and Wonchio Odyuo also highlighted on home stay concept, hospitality and tourist management, clean green and income generating activities respectively.
Altogether 120 participants including SHGs and stakeholders attended the programme.
E-META (Explore-Morashen Eco Tourism Association) is a voluntary association established with an aim to educate and promote conservation of the ecosystem and promote eco-tourism as an alternative and sustainable form of livelihood for the community. It also strives to ensure for the revival and restoration of the nature, conservation of eco-system and cultural as well as improving the welfare of the population through development of eco-tourism, stated a press release issued by E-META, President, Wonchio Odyuo and Press & Media Secretary, Yanren Patton.
