Dimapur, October 28 (MExN): The East Dimapur Business Association (EDBA) has imposed total banned on single use plastic carry bags with or without handle irrespective of thickness and size, plastic cutlery including plates, plastic cups straws, stirrers and other decorative made of styrofoam (thermocol) polythene, nylon, poly-vinyl-carbohydrates, poly-propylene and poly-styrene.
EDBA Grievances Cell Convenor Ayeto N Aye in a press release informed all the shop owners and shop keepers that the ban has been imposed as per the directive and support of Nagaland Government cabinet decision.
EDBA has asked all the shop owners and shopkeepers to adhere government order and stop immediately use of single use plastic or carry bags within EDBA jurisdiction.
“If anyone found violating the Government order, then fine will be imposed as per the Government order,” the Associated added.
