Advisor Sukhalu inaugurates GHS, launches science stream at GHSS in Peren

Peren, April 7 (MExN): Nagaland Advisor for School Education KT Sukhalu inaugurated the newly upgraded Government High School at DC colony and introduction of science stream at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Peren on April 7.

According to a report from the state DIPR, the Advisor, while inaugurating the GHS, emphasized that educating a child is a collective responsibility of both the community and the department, for which the government is providing the facilities. Stating that the community should look after the facilities like their own, he congratulated all the teachers for their valuable effort in managing the school in spite of limited resources. He also encouraged the gathering to give importance in the field of education.

While launching the science stream programme at GHSS, Peren, Sukhalu is said to have assured to provide the required facilities, stating that process for infrastructure is in progress and shortage of qualified post graduate teachers would be addressed soon across the state.

Advisor for Water Resources Namri Nchang who also spoke at the GHS inauguration viewed that there was no point in ‘leveling back to the past years,’ and instead, urged the gathering to focus on economical and educational sector. He encouraged the student community and also urged the parents to lend full support for their children’s education, the DIPR report stated, while adding that Nchang made a mention that the teachers should execute their duty sincerely and stop the practice of proxy teachers. He also thanked the School Education Advisor for hearing the plea of the people by giving the most needed facilities of introduction of science stream and upgrading the GHS, the DIPR report stated.

Meanwhile, Advisor for Horticulture & Border Affairs Mhathung Yanthan noted that the people of Peren district were fortunate to have upgraded five schools in the district. He said that compared to other districts, Peren is doing exceptionally well in the field of education and congratulated the teaching faculty. Yanthan also said that the Government is very serious in promoting education by providing good facilities to impart quality education in the state and urged the students to take advantage in the field of learning, the DIPR reported.

Other speakers in the programme included Iherie Ndang, Retd SP; Apeuna Iheilung, Retd DEO & President ZMO; and Kevipele Iheilung, President NZPO. A short speech was also delivered by Additional Director for School Education Razouseyi Vese. The programme was chaired by EAC Peren Seyievilie Pfukri and vote of thanks was delivered by SDEO-cum-DEO Repainla Jamir, the DIPR report stated.
