Workshop focuses on strengthening of VCs and VDBs
Wokha, February 26 (MExN): A two-day workshop on ‘Empowerment of Local Government system, Nagaland for strengthening of VCs and VDBs’ was held on February 24 and 25 at DC’s Conference Hall, Wokha.
It was organised by Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, Sriperumbudus, Tamil Nadu in collaboration with District Administration Wokha and Integrated Youth Resources Express (IYRE).
Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha, inaugurating the workshop emphasised on the protection of resources in the villages in a sustainable manner. He highlighted the significance of working together harmoniously by all concern stakeholders for over all development of the villages. He specially appreciated the initiative of RGNIYD in reaching out to the remote areas of Nagaland and taking the unique step of strengthening the VCs and VDBs by bringing all the stakeholders together.
