Dimapur, September 2 (MExN): In the wake of a colony in Dimapur deciding to evict all illegal immigrants, Bangladeshi nationals, the Muslim Council of Dimapur has appealed for caution, to ‘differentiate’ genuine Indian Muslims from the aliens. The Muslim Council of Dimapur issued a note today addressed to Imkonglenden Colony Council. The Muslim Council appreciated the decision of the colony to drive out all Bangladeshi illegal immigrants from the area within a week. “But the Muslim Council Dimapur earnest appeal and requests the colony council to kindly differentiate the case of the genuine Indian Muslims residing in the areas for so many years from that of the illegal migrants who might be temporarily residents of the colony,” the note stated. The note was appended by the Muslim Council’s president A Hannan Tapadar and working president A Rahman. The council said it would be grateful if the colony’s civil authorities consider the matter with sympathy.
