Dimapur, February 20 (MExN): The Excise Narcotic personnel, acting on tip off about illegal transaction of drugs in Dimapur’s Nagarjan area, seized 300 grams of heroin and arrested one for possession of the contraband on February 20.
According to a press release issued by Chanlei Angh, Deputy Commissioner of Excise (Narcotic Cell), the arrest was affected after several attempts during the week.
The drug was recovered from 25 soap cases each weighing around 12 grams, it said. The accused was booked under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act 1985 and the case is now under active investigation, it added.
