Phek, December 9 (MExN): The Enhulumi (Yoseba/Pfutsemi) Students’ Union [E(Y/P)SU] on Thursday stated that it is “dissatisfied” with the speed of work by the NHIDCL along National Highway 29 on construction of 2-lane highway between Pfutsero and Chizami.
“The work has begun since mid-2021, yet not even a single kilometer stretch has completed since its work commenced. This has created inconvenience not only to the people living in this region (Pfutsero-Chizami) but also to the vehicles passing through this route every day,” the union stated in a press release issued by its President, Wekutsho Lohe and General Secretary, Eyiekhrote Vero.
It also mentioned that the Construction authority vowed to complete the construction of 2-lane in the Enhulumi Village jurisdiction before the Christmas. “However, Christmas is only a week away and people are getting ready to celebrate Christmas, yet the black topping has not even started.”
“It is also important to note that public need to cooperate with the Construction authority in order to bring about effective and satisfied road in the region,” it stated while appealing to all individuals to cooperate.
Further, it asked the construction authority to maintain road properly in the midst of construction so that the vehicles passing through the road do not meet unfortunate damage or injuries.
