DIMAPUR, AUGUST 29 (MExN): In what seemed to be first of its kind in commercial hub of state, a team of lawyers from Delhi raided eight shops selling cosmetic items in Hazi Park market, Dimapur and seized L’Oreal and Garnier labeled cosmetic items. The raid was conducted this morning with assistance from district administration, police and Quality Control Cell of DMC.
Team leader S. K. Bansal who is a lawyer for L’Oreal and Garnier said that the raid was conducted as per the directive of a court in Delhi. He said that eight shops of Hazi Park namely – M/s Rajdeep Fashion, M/s Cosmos, M/s Rahul & Rahul Store, M/s Arbind Store, M/s Umapati Cosmetic Centre, M/s Sourbh Store, M/s Akash Store, & M/s Ruby Corner were detected selling fake products of the two companies.
According to the lawyer, the two companies had received reports that fake products of L’Oreal and Garnier were being sold in the markets of Northeast region of the country with Dimapur as focus point. Bansal was convinced there are maximum chances that fake products of other reputed companies are being sold in Dimapur.
Bansal thanked the administration, police and Mrs. Tokheli Kikon, DMC advisor incharge of Quality Control Cell for helping the team in conducting the raid.
