Dimapur, August 3 (MExN): Integrated Extension Training Centre (IETC) together with State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) Medziphema organised a farewell programme for T Imsu Ao, SMS (Jr.) IETC, Department of Agriculture on July 31.
Dr. Watimongla Jamir, Vice Principal and in-charge of Agri. Chemistry Lab, who read out the service profile of the retiring officer, mentioned that Imsu was a trainee of the 14th batch of Agriculture Extension Training at IETC and joined as an Agriculture Field Assistant on July 11, 1983. He was promoted on merit to Agriculture Inspector on November 26, 2015 and then as SMS (Jr.) on September 29, 2016. He is the only officer from IETC till date to be awarded with the ‘State Level Award for commendable works in the field of Agricultural Extension’, it was informed, according to a press release from Director SAMETI & Principal IETC.
Speaking on behalf of the Department, Principal IETC and Director SAMETI, Dr. Amenla remarked that Imsu was one of the most dedicated and outstanding officers in the department, who was always ready to go beyond the call of duty for the betterment of the department. “He is an exemplar for the department staff and his release from official duty would leave a huge gap in the department,” she stated, adding his contribution to the department with utmost sincerity and dedication is something to be emulated by all.
Meanwhile, Imsu thanked the staff of the department for giving him a good working environment and cooperation in all spheres of work. He also thanked his wife for her ceaseless prayers which allowed him to complete 35 years of service in good health. He gave a brief history of his service and concluded by encouraging all the staff to do justice to their service by working sincerely for the department in particular and the State government in general. Other staff from SAMETI and IETC also spoke during the programme.
