Meluri, January 24 (MExN): At least 43 farmers from different Farmer Interest Groups (FIGs) and Food Security Groups (FSGs) in Akhegwo and Meluri villages were given demonstrations on how to manage their farms using bio fertilizers on January 20 and 21.
According to a press release on Sunday. Assistant Technical Managers of Meluri Block demonstrated on how bio fertilizers can be applied to crops for seed treatment, seedling root dip and soil treatment. Stepwise procedure on application of bio fertilizer to treat various crops were shown to the farmers and bio fertilizers were distributed to the farmers. Pickle making with locally available raw materials and value addition of various fruits and vegetables were also demonstrated, it said.
Maize-shellers provided by the department were also distributed to the farmers after the demonstrations.
