Dimapur, March 27 (MExN): ATMA Dimapur conducted a State farmers training on ‘low cost mushroom cultivation and value addition’ on March 16 at ATMA Training Hall, Dimapur.
The chairperson of the training, Avitoli K Yeptho, DPD Dimapur welcomed the participants and resource person and encouraged the farmers to learn and increase their income through mushroom cultivation. Lireni Kikon, Assistant Chief Technical Officer (ACTO) KVK, Dimapur was the resource person for the training and covered topics like nutritional value and medicinal value of mushroom, different species of mushroom, methods of mushroom cultivation and post harvest aspects of mushroom.
A practical demonstration on low cost mushroom cultivation using paddy straw was also demonstrated and farmers were also given a hands-on practice. The training concluded with vote of thanks from Akavi Holo, BTM Kuhuboto block. Altogether 32 participants from different SHGs and progressive farmers attended the training.
