FCI confirms adequate rice stocks for Nagaland

Dimapur, July 5 (MExN): The Food Corporation of India (FCI) Regional Office in Dimapur has issued a press release confirming the sufficiency of rice stocks to meet the state's requirements. "Sufficient stocks are available in the central pool to meet the requirements of NFSA and other schemes of the Government of India for the state of Nagaland," stated the FCI press release. As of July 4, 2024, the central pool contains approximately 48,600 metric tons (MT) of Fortified Rice Kernels (FRK) rice. This is higher than the estimated 11,500 MT needed for distribution in July 2024. The FCI emphasized that these quantities are well above the buffer norms and operational requirements, ensuring a stable supply of rice for the state's needs.
