Dimapur, October 11 (MExN): A fire broke out in Chümoukedima, near 15 IR Camp (Mahila) on October 10, razing a house and destroying property and cash worth over Rs 6 lakhs. A press release from the Dy SP, Fire and Emergency Services on Sunday, informed that a fire call was received at around 5:16 pm on October 10 at Chümoukedima, following which Fire & Emergency Services mobilized a quick response team from Fire Station Chümoukedima.
“One kutcha kitchen with four rooms, one Alto LXI and cash amount Rs 4.50 lakh along with other household property worth Rs 2 lakh was lost in the inferno,” the release stated.
Two Fire Tenders along with sufficient equipments and fire personnel were pressed into action and took 37 minutes to combat the fire and prevented it from spreading further, it said.
No casualty was reported and the cause of fire is from electrical short circuit, it added.
