The Fire & Emergency Services from Nagaland came to the rescue in a fire incident across the border in Karbi Anglong, Assam. The fire, which razed a block of thatch houses, was reported from Borolengri Block-1 at around midnight on December 18. It affected three families. According to the Fire Services, three fire tenders were immediately dispatched after the information was received at around 11:50 pm. Two were dispatched from Fire Station (West) and one from Fire Station (Central) with as many as 15 fire-fighters. One of the fire fighters said that it took around an hour to bring the flames under control. There was no report of any casualty. The Bokajan sub-divisional headquarters, under which Borolengri falls, has a fire station.
